G80 (SL-86) Clevis Grab Hook

The G80 (SL-86) grab hook is used in the manufacture of chain slings and lashing chains. The main function of this hook is shortening the chain leg of a sling and adjusting its length.

It is made from high-alloy Grade 80 steel (G80) to EN 1677. It is fitted with a clevis end with a cotter pin and a latch, which prevents an engaged load from coming free.

Applications Used as a component of chain slings. The G80 (SL-86) grab hook is fitted to the master link, usually by means of a European-type link and two or three chain links.

Once the chain is seated in the clevis of the hook, the main retaining pin is fitted, plus a smaller secondary safety pin. The safety pin prevents the main pin from working loose.

Grab hooks are sized to match the parameters of G80 class chain exactly, and to the requirements of the standard.
