Frequently Asked Questions

Endless (round/endless webbing) slings form a continuous closed loop without fixed end points, allowing you to rotate the contact points to extend service life. Eye-and-eye (loop) slings feature a flat or twisted eye loop at each end, making them ideal for direct hook connections and specific hitching setups.

Calculate the total weight of your load and factor in the lifting angle, choke configuration, and hitch type (straight, basket, or choke). Always select a sling with a Working Load Limit (WLL) that exceeds the total calculated tension.

According to international standards (EN 1492-1), polyester webbing slings are color-coded by Working Load Limit:

  • Violet: 1 Tonne

  • Green: 2 Tonnes

  • Yellow: 3 Tonnes

  • Grey: 4 Tonnes

  • Red: 5 Tonnes

  • Brown: 6 Tonnes

  • Blue: 8 Tonnes

  • Orange: 10+ Tonnes

Protective sleeves (like wear sleeves or anti-cut covers) shield the sling fibers from sharp edges, abrasive surfaces, friction heat, and chemical wear, significantly extending the life and safety of the sling.

The safety factor indicates the ratio between breaking strength and Working Load Limit (WLL). A 5:1 safety factor means the sling breaks at 5 times its WLL (commonly used for general cargo/lashing), while a 7:1 safety factor breaks at 7 times its WLL (standard for industrial overhead lifting slings).

Polyester textile slings offer excellent resistance to UV light and moderate acids, but they can be damaged by strong alkalis. Always check manufacturer ratings for specific chemical environments and exposure durations.

Attach the chain link directly into the slot of the grab/shortening hook to reduce the leg length to your desired height. Ensure the chain link seats fully in the bottom of the hook groove before applying any tension.
